Nearshore developers for Miami companies are senior engineers based in Mexico who work your business hours, join your meetings live and bill in US dollars at a published rate. Why Miami companies look nearshore
Typical situations (not client quotes)
- We have had a senior engineer req open since the spring. Every candidate wants more than we budgeted.
- Our Latin American customers need the product in Spanish, and nobody on the team writes it natively.
- We tried a team twelve hours away. Every bug waited until their morning.
Hiring senior engineers in Miami is slow and expensive, and the salary is only part of it: recruiting fees, benefits, equipment and the months the seat stays empty. median pay for software developers in the Miami area: $132,650 a year (BLS OEWS, May 2025), before benefits and payroll taxes, and that is the median, not what a senior candidate asks for.
Offshore solves the cost and breaks the collaboration: your working day and theirs barely touch. What most Miami teams actually need is an engineer who is in the stand-up at 9:00 a.m., answers in Slack at 2:00 p.m., ships before your end of day, and happens to cost less because they live in Guadalajara.
What you get
One named senior engineer, dedicated to your product, plus a tech lead who reviews their work and steps in on architecture. They work inside your repository, your tracker and your chat, attend your stand-up and your reviews live, and ship under your process. We work Miami hours, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern, so there is no part of your business day we are not available.
You interview the engineer before signing. You can start with an optional two-week pilot ($5,500, credited to the first month if you continue); if the fit is wrong, you stop there. The practices they bring are the ones we use on our own platform, Guiadalajara: every Guiadalajara release backs up the database before anything changes, blue/green deploys and infrastructure as code. The general terms are on the nearshore engineering page; agencies start from the white-label page for Miami agencies.
